Overview
Har Ki Dun or Har Ki Doon is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful valleys in the Garhwal Himalayas. It is also known as the Valley (Dun) of God or Shiva (Har). Also a remote village in Uttarakhand, the villages of this valley still have no road connections and as a result still follow their own culture and traditions without being influenced by others, making the trip to Har Ki Dun even more enjoyable. .
The Har Ki Dun valley is located in the Himalayan foothills. 11,700 ft. The valley offers panoramic views of lush green meadows, alpine vegetation, flowing “Thams” river, Jaundhar glacier and snow-capped mountains from a single location. If you go a little deeper into the valley you will see an icy lake called Maninda Tal.
The village is about 15 miles [25 km] from Taluka. The actual trek to the village starts from Taluka village and passes through Gangaad, Osala, and Seema. It is a 2-day trip usually done in two stages. The first stage starts from Taluka and ends at seema & the second stage is from seema to Osla.The return route is the same.
Itinerary
Day 1: Dehradun to Sankri
- 220 Km Drive to Sankri via Mussoorie.
- Visit Kempty Falls, 15 km from Mussoorie.
- Continue driving towards Purola, located at an altitude of 1,524 mtr. It is located in the dense jungle and wildlife, especially the endangered snow leopard, also known as the ‘Har Ki Dun Gate’.
- Overnight stay in lounge / tent.
Day 2: Journey from Sankri to Pauni Garaat by Taluka
- Sankari has amazing and amazing views of the forest country and the valley
- Start the Trek to Puni Garaat and the Rupin River.
- Reach Pauni Garaat, a small village of 7,000 ft, boasting of wild wild roses, green deodars and rich vegetation.

Day 3: A trip from Puni Garaat to Kalkattiyadhaar

- From Kalkattiyadhar, continue down the valley, across a bridge overlooking the Rupin River. Later, hike to photo gardens, fertile coniferous vegetation, and beautiful meadows all the way to Har ki Doon.

Day 6: A journey from Pauni Garaat to Sankri Via Taluka
- Start the return trip to the Sankri area. Enjoy the amazing views and untouched beauty of nature in your study and come to Sankri
- Overnight stay at a local hotel.
Day 7: Drive from Sankri to Dehradun
- The amazing journey to Har Ki Dun arrives and ends on the 7th day.
- After breakfast drive back to Dehradun
- Explore Dehradun alone.
