Apex Legends’ thirteenth season is coming up well. Newcastle is the new unbeatable legend, and Storm Point and Apex’s Ranked system are undergoing significant changes.
The full patch notes contain balance tweaks and bug patches, but we’ll examine the key changes before you drop in. Apex Legends Season 13: Saviors details.
When does Season 13 begin?
Season 13 of Apex Legends launches May 10 at 10 am PST/6 pm BST. Once the Saviors season begins, you may check out the new Legend and map reworks whenever you want.
Apex Legends’ Newcastle isn’t Geordie. He’s a shield-wielding knight who can fortify a site.
Newcastle’s entire outfit was hinted at in the Season 13 video. Newcastle deploys a drone-controlled mobile energy barrier. He launches another barrier while restoring Pathfinder as part of his Retrieve the Wounded passive. His ultimate, Castle Wall, can resist more damage than Rampart’s barriers, according to the teaser.
- Throw a controlled drone to construct a mobile energy barrier.
- Drag fallen teammates as you resurrect and defend them with your Revive Shield.
- Jump to an ally or target and smash down to create a stronghold.
Adding a legend focused on hardcover may be an effort to shake up the Gibraltar meta, but past defensive heroes like Wattson and Rampart have frequently been lackluster. Apex likes to premiere overpowering new characters, so expect to hit brick walls during the first few weeks of the new season.
Season 13’s ranked revamp
Season 13 will be Apex’s greatest update of its Ranked system ever.
Season 13 ranked overhaul removes de-ranking protection (under the current system, you can drop tiers within a rank, but never fall below your current rank’s bottom tier). Respawn says tier demotions will help gamers who get promoted but can’t ascend the rankings. Three lost games after promotion safeguard you from tier relegation.
Changes to RP for kills and the assist timeframe seek to emphasize “Skill and Teamwork.” Respawn: “Now everyone on a squad receives RP when someone kills.” RP for kills no longer has a maximum; each kill’s basic value decreases. The assist timeout has been increased from 10 to 15 seconds and resets on revive.
What’s new in Apex Legends Season 13?
Apex Legends’ new map, Storm Point, has been pummelling. Our Legends kill a large enemy crab, whose body is a new POI dubbed Downed Beast. ECHO has come to clean up, but its tents and enormous crane are high-tier treasure locations around the beast’s torso. You may also climb inside or zipline above New Game.

IMC Armories that burst through the sand are more fascinating. These treasure vaults are stocked with weaponry and accessories, but grabbing them will spawn AI-controlled Spectres. After 60 seconds, you may walk out or eject into the sky to receive the reward.
What’s in Season 13’s Battle Pass?
The Season 13 battle pass costs 950 Apex Coins and the bundle costs 2,800. It includes themed skins, banners, voice lines, holo-sprays, soundtrack packs, and loading screens.
Fade is just a guy in an edgy mask who says “surging forward!” every 15 seconds. Maybe, perhaps, Apex’s handheld legends will make it to the main game someday. I just hope that when they do, they don’t feel like haphazard additions to a roster that takes great care to make each character feel like part of a larger family
