Historically Skandagiri also known as Kalavara Durga or Kalwarbetta.This trek starts from Papagni Mutt.The best time for this trek is during the fall and winter.

How To Reach Skandagiri:

There are two routes,

1st route: Continue on NH 44 for 12.7 km from Nandi Cross(Rani Cross). Then take the left onto Chikkaballapur Road.In about 27 km turn left and continue 1.8 km.

At the T-junction you need to take the left turn and continue 550 metres then take the right.You will see Muddenahalli Bus Stop.

From here continue 2 km and take the left Kalwara village T-junction.In about 900 mt you will reach Papagni  Mutt,the starting point of Skandagiri trek.

2nd Route:You need to turn left from NH 44 to State Highway 104 at Rani Cross(Nandi Cross) and need to continue to Skandagiri by taking a right at Karahalli Cross via Nandi Grama and turn left at Gantiganahalli.From here you need to follow the first route.

 

The Trek Route:

You need to start from Papagni Mutt. This trail moves along with some muddy routes and rocky patches.Then a straight route will lead you to a midpoint where Kalavara Durga Gate welcomes you.After that a narrow path brings you to the border of a hill.Then a sharp right leads you to the Skandagiri.

Here you need to wait to see the magic.When the sun will rise from the mountains covered with clouds.Enjoy this moment and then go back to the base.

 

2.Ranganathaswamy Betta Night Trek:

The location of this trek is around 80 km away from Bangalore.It is popularly known as BR hills.This Trek begins from Banerghatta National Park.After reaching to the top one can get a stunning view of the Cauvery river and Savandurga range.This journey is not a difficult one.The height is about 3780 feet above sea level.One can do this trek after the monsoon.If you go there during rainy season then this may create risks of injury as the path will be quite slippery.You need to bring sufficient water, powerful flashlight with extra batteries,dry foods,Sleeping bags and tents.

 

3.Anthargange Night Trek:

This is one of the most adventurous and thrilling night treks in India which is situated around 65 Km from Bangalore. This hill is completely surrounded by boulders. This adventure will take you back to that primitive age when early human beings used to live in caves and will give a “Cave-man” feeling. If luck favours one might catch a glimpse of wild animals.
